I develop the moot seat from an old photograph from Gertrudr Jekyll's book on Garden Ornament published in 1918 which showed the seat painted a light colour and set into a large yew hedge at The Moot in Wiltshire. Miss Jekyll comments that the seat, of an ingenious design of far-eastern character would be better if painted less obtrusively so as not to compete with its surrounding by drawing the eye to it. I think the seat look fine, but we can provide the seat in natural Iroko or Oak, and can paint the Iroko seat in any of our standard colours or to your own colour choice using our water based microporous paint. This large Moot seat with three panels is a larger version of the Moot seat developed for a client for a famous house in London. A seat which will seat 4-5 people comfortably.
